Jack McKenney was born and raised in New England.
He currently lives and paints in Camden, Maine.
He spent most of his professional life successfully managing a career in retail marketing and merchandising and during the last fifteen years, lived and worked in Boston and New York City.
His creativity and vision had always been visible in his marketing
and visual presentation work. Since leaving that field, he has focused his creative expression in his painting.
Jack’s paintings are in oil on linen. His work combines sensitive color use with exact shapes and movements. His paintings have been shown in galleries in Southern Maine. His paintings have been commissioned works by private individuals in Boston and New York.
He works year round in his studio overlooking the harbor in Camden Maine. That space serves as a gallery, exhibiting this work exclusively.
THERE YOU ROW WITH TRANQUIL OARS, AND THE OCEAN
SHOWS NO SCAR FROM THE CUTTING OF YOUR PLACID KEEL:
CARE BECOMES SENSELESS THERE: PRIDE AND PROMOTION
REMOTE: YOU ONLY LOOK: YOU SCARCELY FEEL.
EVEN ADVENTURE WITH IT'S VITAL USES.
IS AIMLESS ARDOR NOW: AND THRIFT IS WASTE.
OH, TO BE THERE, UNDER THE SILENT SPRUCES.
WHERE THE WIDE, QUIET EVENING DARKENS WITHOUT HASTE.
OVER A SEA WITH DEATH ACQUAINTED, YET FOREVER CHASED.
